I have experienced High Street chains with no real satisfaction and was subsequently advised to seek a better service from an Independent Optician. David Kneebone in Sommerton fitted the bill perfectly. My wife and I have been going there for the last 15 years or so. You get a thorough eye examination with the personnel touch in a calm unhurried environment with modern equipment and a great range of frames. The quality of the lens and frames are excellent and the service faultless. I Would not now go anywhere else.

I wanted a specific make of glasses and was fortunate to find this optician selling them not too far from my home. I made my initial appointment without difficulty. As I already had my prescription I discussed with the optician what I wanted. He was exceptionally helpful and easy to talk to. He found me quite a few pairs of glasses to choose from and measured me for fit. We also discussed the different types of lenses I could have. With a decision made I was given an estimate of when my glasses would be ready for collection. The glasses were ready on time. I made another appointment for fitting and collection. My glasses were a perfect fit. Both the optician and receptionist are friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend them for their excellent service.

I was given assistance choosing a pair of glasses and was advised towards a pair that truly suit my face, and against a pair that did not. Finding a good optician is not always easy. I have tried using the large chains but they were not helpful and to be honest gave me bad information. This is a great independent opticians that are always helpful, have time to answer any questions. Also my husband had an issue with his eye, they saw him quickly and potentially saved his eye. My advice to anyone wishing to care for their eyesight would be to seek the advice of a top private Optician like David Kneebone of Somerton. The parlour is refreshing and the staff are understanding. The equipment is very high quality. Although I am on Pension Credit now, I was offered a financial arrangement to help me with future costs and to pay larger amounts over time. Yes, high quality glasses are expensive but when you investigate the difference between the lenses used by Kneebone to those of a High Street Optician, it is clear as to why. Most customers reject varifoculs because they cannot get on with the change between short and far sight. I do not even know that I am wearing mine. The lenses are so hi tech and they go dark as soon as the light tells them to. I do not regret investing in good glasses one bit. If you are feeling uncertain about paying for new glasses, just ask and I'm sure the staff at Kneebone Optician will do their best to accommodate you.

I had a vision test and pair of reading glasses prescribed by Mr kneebones colleague . I found the whole experience friendly and professional,my glasses were provided promptly and reasonably priced. I was kindly referred by the optometrist for possible cataract surgery, and a few follow up emails I sent to Mr kneebone were answered by him in a very prompt manner. I will certainly be visiting again
